..and They Lived Happily Ever After (part 2)

For anybody that doesnt know, Disney weddings are a ridiculously well oiled machine.  It’s actually one of the decision makers for us, when we chose a Disney wedding.  They take care of absolutely everything, something goes wrong, they fix it, and there are so many people involved, that you never once get nervous about the day.

I wasn’t so much nervous as I was anxious, apparently Sandra was the calmest she’d ever been in her entire life.

When Spencer and I arrived at the pavilion, we got to relax for a while, and were quickly ushered into the vestibule so that I wouldnt see Sandra in her dress before the ceremony. Everything just went by in a flash.  Suddenly Spencer and I were called up to the door with Rev Kev, the doors opened up, and the Imperial March started. (ya that’s right, we walked to Darth Vaders music, and what?).  You would have thought we were being coordinated by Special Service agents.  Carol, our planner had her ear piece and gave us the signal.. “in 3, 2, 1… Groom walks”

I made it to the alter without tripping.. awesome, now to wait for my bride to be.  The music changed, the bridesmaids walked in and they were STUNNING.  I heard the organist start playing Bitter Sweet Symphony, and my palms got  sweaty, this was going to be the first time I’d see Sandra in her wedding gown, and when those doors opened… wow!

I’m not going to lie.. i got a bit teary eyed, but that’s ok, cuz I reckon quite a few people had “something in their eye”.

The ceremony itself was brief, but beautiful.  How could it not be beautiful, when you’ve got Cinderella’s Castle as your backdrop?  We’d played a slight prank on Spencer, who was left feeling rather awkward when asked for the rings… he didnt have em, and instead they were brought up to us by Major Domo.  I’m pretty sure Spencer was about ready to run back to the Grand and tear my room apart looking for them…

Once his heart had slowed down a bit, we finished getting married :)

“I now pronounce you Mr and Mrs Marc Boden”  The words I had been waiting over a year to hear. The only downside to this, was… the day we’d spent a year planning was now halfway over.. but hey, Sandra’s a Boden now!

Strike up the music, we’re heading to the reception! oh, and the music? Main Street Electrical Parade… who can’t get excited to hear that?
